Briar Forsythe is a formally trained vocalist-turned-entrepreneur and patron of the arts.  Ms. Forsythe studied classical voice at the distinguished New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. She continued her vocal studies at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts where she participated in master classes, opera workshops, and performed several voice recitals.

While studying classical voice, Ms. Forsythe discovered her love for entrepreneurship by receiving an opportunity to open an inn with her family. She developed a passion for a career in hospitality and went on to help expand her family business by opening a boutique hotel in Cambridge. This eventually lead to her pioneering her own business, a luxury wedding venue at the sprawling Willowdale Estate in Topsfield, Massachusetts. Her business became extremely successful in a short span of time and Ms. Forsythe decided to go back to her artistic roots in music by hosting various musical concerts and artist events at the Willowdale estate.

Ms. Forsythe now resides in New York City’s Upper West Side where she oversees her business and is a committed patron of the arts. She frequently attends the Metropolitan Opera, chamber music events, as well as Off-Broadway and Broadway shows. Ms. Forsythe is not only dedicated to supporting and kindling her passion for the performing arts, but also keeping abreast of what and who is in vogue in the New York theater scene.

Ms. Forsythe has always been inspired by her close friend, Lisa Tamagini, as a vocal artist and her work as a professional teacher. She and Ms. Tamagini collaborated to create The Summer Institute for the Vocal Arts (SIVA), with the desire to construct an intensive summertime training opportunity outside of the city. SIVA will offer young singers of all genres a quality, performance-based and professionally-focused educational experience to hone their skills, broaden their confidence, and learn from top teachers in the industry.
